APL Media Release Form

At Yesterdays State Championships, every participant was told to sign a Media Release Form because of the filming taking place for APL's Lights, Camera, Poker shows.

No-one gave a second thought to signing it, as we all thought it to be just a standard release form. It was much later after reading through the page and a half of legal jargon that we found that APL has a much sinister reason for this form, but I will let you be the judge. The following is what is in the form.

2. RESTRICTIONS AS TO RIGHTS:
The player agrees that he or she will:
Within Australia from the date of this Deed and;
i. For a period of 36 months; or alternatively;
ii. For a period of 24 months; or alternatively;
iii. For a period of 18 months; or alternatively;
iv. For a period of 12 months; or alternatively;
v. For a period of 6 months; or alternatively;
vi. For a period of 3 months;
not to participate or be involved(whether directly or indirectly) in any similar event to that run by the APL, with any other third party, to the detriment of the APL or LCP.
